Lido Fest

The event will take place on the 28th of November 2009. There will be three stages and artists across several musical genres, from hip-hop to very heavy metal bands. There are expected to be in excess of 25 artists performing. The 3rd stage will shut down at 20:00 so that we may focus on the very generous, well known South Africa artists that will grace the other stages for extended sets.

Due to the non-profit nature of the event, none of our artists will be performing for a fee. This show will expose the true nature of the artists and their intent and desire to give back to the communities that support them though the thick and thin.

The project to which the event is dedicated is called “One Golden Thread”. Previously, funds generated by this event have gone to charities such as CHOC, and needy individuals.

This particular event serves to highlight the threat that cancer poses to children, with two specific cases being brought to attention. The first is that of 11-month-old Reef who, at the age of five months, was diagnosed with leukemia and had his first bone marrow transplant on the 8th of September, 2009. The other case is that of little Michael Steyn, who has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and urgently needs a new liver. All funds generated will be going to Michael Steyn and there will be a platelet donation drive for little Reef.

Hosted by the great Gordon Laws!

Warthane – Europe

Greetings All!

TGT2009Warthane_Online

We are back from Europe! Firstly we had a blasting time with metal machines SacriFist! And all our new European fans and friends \m/!

Europe with thousands of dedicated bands, thousands of live shows posters, current economic events and a hundred times harder to break into the music industry! With our sweaty asses and 7,000 kilometers of driving we have managed to gain more than expected. Once again we would like to thank all our organizers in Germany, Switzerland and South Africa – Grim Music S.A for the amount of support and organization.

Wacken 2009! With really good bands and backstage passes was really mind blowing as to amount of networking we have done and metal icons we have met. We had been invited to do a interview with Wacken Radio which turned out to be very surprising when we arrived at the studio, the radio host(s) informed us they already had our album and been streaming it on air for the past three days of the festival.

We had some really great shows with Pamela Strydom(Black Dahlia) along side with Willi Dammeier (Dimmu Borgir, Ace – Skunk Anansie) mixing sound for us and SacriFist with a few photographers capturing our performance(s). It was also great to hear from the club owner at our show in Berlin we had been the first South African metal band(s) to play East Berlin \m/. Reception was great we sold all our merch and seen some female stage diving. On our days off we did some promo (5,000 flyers, promo packs etc.) and met with some of the biggest record labels in the industry. We are happy to announce we have an official booking agent in Germany so our second European tour is already in the works for next year with a few surprises.

Now back to song writing! We currently writing and recording new material for our upcoming second album “Black Devine” which should be released early 2010!
